We arrived in Adelaide on Feb 16th and stayed at
the Adelaide Shores Big 4 in West Beach (near Glenelg). It is unquestionably the best Big 4 caravan park
we have ever stayed at (and we’ve stayed in a lot of them over the years!). There are two playgrounds, a splash park,
pool, indoor rec room / playground, café and loads of room. Ben was in heaven. The BBQ facilities and amenities were all
clean and modern and even though the place is enormous, it was quiet and civilised.
That was just in
the park. Next door was a mini golf
course and a short ride down the road was a huge playground with a flying fox. Lots to do, although we didn’t really feel it
fitted with the ‘year off exploring Australia’ theme for the trip. We loved it but wanted to get moving.
Ben loves a flying fox, especially swinging sideways as he goes. |
We had to stay in Adelaide for 5 nights as we had finally
found somewhere to install a bullbar and they needed the car for 2 days. We also had to fix the previously mentioned
broken vent issue, which we finally sorted out the day before we left.
All in all, Adelaide was a very successful stop but there
wasn’t much to report in terms of exciting and adventurous activity. Our original plan had involved heading from
Adelaide around the coast to Port Lincoln and up to Ceduna but due to running a
bit behind schedule we decided to cut straight across and get to WA and far
away destinations as soon as we could.
Given that SA is reasonably close to home, we can return to those lovely
areas in future years on school holiday breaks.
Wow look at Benny go on that flying fox!
ReplyDeleteI know - he is a total daredevil. He gets really cross if we don't swing him almost sideways!
