Our drawer system for the back of the Ford Ranger arrived a couple of weeks ago and i've been busy installing them ever since. They are from Drifta camping kitchens (http://www.drifta.com.au/4wd-drawers) and I am really impressed.

Here are a few snaps of the installation process:

Benny helping me unwrap the palette with his Christmas pocket knife

Jenny getting handy with the drill. The main drawer system needed to be bolted through the bottom of the ute tray. We were very particular about getting the system square and flush with the end of the ute tray (I'm really OCD like that!)
The white hose on the right is the outlet from the 65 litre water tank installed at the very back of the drawer system. Anyone thirsty?

I cut the custom shape for the side wings from marine ply and am now covering them with marine carpet. I did lots of research into how I should apply the carpet given I don't have a compressor and glue spray gun. For anyone looking to do the same, in the end I rounded off all the edges with an orbital sander and used Sikaflex Sikabond Spray Fix high strength contact adhesive and it was perfect. I needed two large cans though.

Huge thanks here to our friend Tony D for all his help with measuring, cutting and sanding the side wings as well as choosing the contact adhesive at Bunnings. This was by far the most difficult part of the project.

The finished side wings. The one which will go on the passenger side is much shorter as there is a deep-cycle battery installed towards the back of the tray on that side

The final product (Well sort of, I will add a fridge slide on top of the left hand side just before we depart).

And here it is with the drawers out a bit. That Laminex board above the right drawer is actually a slide out picnic table with fold-out legs.
